What is it all about?

Assist CFO & Head of FP&A with determining annual Budget targets for capex and working capital.
Provide meaningful monthly analysis of Capex and Working capital variances (by month, YTD and Total year) within tight deadlines.
Manage the RCRC process, meeting timetables, submissions, minutes and reporting.
Liaise with Finance teams in country to understand underlying causes of variances.
Prepare results in a succinct and presentable format for management information purposes.
Tight monitoring and control of Capex expenditure against Work Plan and Budget/Outlook.
Capital Outlook coordination and consolidation.
Preparation of KPI data for the Region.
Provide actual spend reports including foreign exchange analysis.
Capital policy control and DOA policing.
Preparation of Capex Presentation material for internal review
Submission of Capex WP&B and Outlook data to Asahi Group Finance and Corporate Planning.
Loading of the Capex WP&B/Outlooks into SAP and verification of output.
Validation of available budget on all project requests.
Carry out due diligence on PAF's submitted for approval via the electronic work flow system (ePAF).
Liaising with the Planning group to obtain accompanying PAF documentation for Calgary/Beijing PAFs
Liaising with Corporate Planning to have all PAFs signed by appropriate signatories within the DOA structure.
Carrying out the step of applying funds to approved projects in SAP prior to release by Project Managers.
Overall PAF approval monitoring and reporting.
Preparation and monitoring of CE Cash flow forecasting.
Capital project set up, supplementing and closures for Information Services and Corporate Projects.
Accounting for Acquisitions and Divestments.
Monthly analysis and reporting of Exploration Expense.
Liaising with the Information Services department to understand capital forecasts and variances and prepare accruals as required.
Prepare quarterly project manager report in order to assist line manager in meeting SOX assertions.
Distribute monthly supplement reports and facilitate a meeting with key stakeholders.
Support for integration projects as required.
Develop strong sense of team within the group, working closely with the other Accountants to present a coordinated approach and consistency of reporting.

Who are you?

Ability to liaise with people at all levels, including ability to work with senior management, department heads and the parent company.
Oral and written communication, demonstrated through interaction at Board level.
Financial insight and analytical capabilities.
Understanding of complex commercial and financial issues.
A high degree of computer literacy & modelling.
Self Reliant and Self Motivated.
High energy levels with an intellectual curiosity and a results-focused work ethic
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with extensive work experience.
  • Good understanding and experience of SAP functions in particular Capex Projects and WBS structures.
  • Ability to analyse, investigate, problem-solve and report accurately against tight deadlines.
A highly disciplined, organised individual who knows the importance of structure, process & confidentiality.
A motivated self-starter, with good interpersonal skills who is comfortable taking the lead on initiatives and seeing them through to resolution.
Aptitude to translate business and operational requirements into finance processes and associated integration points and respond in a time efficient manner.
Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
