Solution Architect - A

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and managing process and automation solutions during the proposal/bid phase, serving as the technical counterpart to the Lead Engineer in project execution. They deliver process and mechanical design outputs (e.g., PFDs, mass balances, P&IDs) and manage the full technical scope of bids or assigned project portions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer RFQs and requirements to propose technically and cost-effectively viable process solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical and process interface for customers and internal teams.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure outputs meet timeline, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Align proposal technical scope with customer RFQs and define/propose KPIs to measure solution performance.
  • Consolidate engineering hour estimates, propose execution strategies, and collaborate with regional engineering heads and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate solution designs from various technical domains and key suppliers (e.g., tanks, powder handling, filling lines).
  • Actively manage proposal/project teams to adhere to bid schedules and internal standards.
  • Own the solution design throughout the project lifecycle, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with legislation, standards, and internal references (e.g., EU Machinery Directive).
  • Oversee completeness and consistency of documentation (P&IDs, layouts, utility requirements, product losses, automation architecture, SCADA, MES, etc.).
  • Define and manage interfaces between subsystems and external parties.
  • Organize and lead technical and project meetings (internal and customer-facing) per internal processes.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on specifications and supplier quote evaluations for key equipment.
  • Support solution costing, verify scope/budget consistency, and identify technical savings opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, best practice sharing, and "lessons learned" documentation.

Who are we looking for?

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present technical solutions to customers.
  • Capability to work in global, matrixed teams with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience building customer trust and "selling" proposed solutions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, initiative, and independent working ability.
  • Ethical approach, integrity, and high performance in team settings.

Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., process, mechanical, electrical).
  • Experience in design and execution of solutions in hygienic industries (food, beverage, pharma, etc.).
  • Experience leading technical teams is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with planning tools (e.g., MS Project) and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license is strongly preferred; willingness to travel (up to 30%, including internationally).
