What is it all about?

Accountable for the delivery of the IT services to the business.
Ensure the on-going service delivery and support meet agreed customer requirements on behalf of the service(s) owned.
Identify opportunities for service improvements, prioritise with the Customer Service Manager and ensure the improvement plan (for each service) is managed and prioritised effectively.
Perform operational management of suppliers and vendors responsible for delivering the services.
Liaise with the appropriate process owners throughout the Service Management lifecycle in order to:
Ensure adherence/control to processes by any suppliers, vendors or internal teams responsible for delivering or supporting a service
Resolve issues preventing the correct operation or delivery of a service
Improve the maturity, performance and quality of delivery of a service.
Use information, statistics and reports for analysis to ensure services are operating as required.
Prevent the proliferation of different solutions fulfilling the same services.
Ensure the Service Catalogue and Configuration Management Systems are accurate and up to date for the services that they own.
Identify step changes or new opportunities for providing services more efficiently or effectively.
Accountable for the effective delivery of change to the service(s) that they own
Accountable for the effective resolution of all Incidents assigned to their service (to Service Level targets). Involved in crisis or critical Incident situations.
Key stakeholder / customer in receipt of root cause analysis and recommended preventative changes.
Plays a major role in proposing and driving a permanent fix for Problems impacting their service.
Ensures that all changes affecting a service:
are impact assessed to understand the planned/known impacts and risk of unplanned impacts of change,
follow the change management process and are party to the appropriate technical and business approvals.
Acts as a stakeholder in determining whether a new release affecting a service is scheduled appropriately and ready for promotion to the live environment.
Manages and drives the execution of the Service Improvement Plan (SIP) for a service.
Prioritises service improvements in conjunction with the Customer Service Manager.
Accountable for the accuracy and maintenance of the asset and configuration management information for their services. Ensures that all groups which maintain the data and CI relationships for the service have done so with the required integrity.

Who are you?

Technical Degree
Considerable experience and proven track record in Service management roles
Specific experience managing End User Computing Services services at large complex global organisations
Strong knowledge of IS service management / service control processes and methodologies, e.g. ITIL
ITIL (Service Management Certificate) qualified (preferred).
Experience in leading service management teams, internal and 3rd parties
Experience working in a multi-vendor IS sourcing environment
Good commercial and business awareness
Good knowledge and understanding of End User Computing technology areas (within projects and operations)
Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, tools and architectures
Experience of managing relationships with internal business customers
Experience working with End User Computing service providers
